The Symposium invites reflections on our collective experiences as scholars, practitioners, and learners navigating the ever changing material conditions of our activity and the paradigms that inform our practice. The Symposium 2021 is being presented by CERLL. This event is a collaboration with the Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga, the Faculty of Education at Western University, the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics and the Faculty of Education at York University, as well as the Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies at the University of Waterloo.

Extended Reality technologies for experiential learning in virtual language education and research
Some of Professor Alister Cumming’s former students assembled a book in his honour consisting of chapters by former students and colleagues. They invited Lourdes Ortega of Georgetown University to comment on the book; she and Professor Alister Cumming worked together on the journal Language Learning for many years.
