We are pleased to invite you to our online Focus on Research lecture series for 2024-5. All OISE community members are welcome to attend.
Across all societies, children are socialized from an early age to avoid lying, cheating, and stealing—behaviours universally seen as immoral. Yet, many still engage in these actions. Despite significant research, we know surprisingly little about how young children learn or fail to learn to resist dishonesty. In this talk, Professor Lee will share some of his unexpected findings on the development of dishonest behaviors and invite audience input on how we can deepen our understanding moving forward.
About the Speaker
Professor Kang Lee
is a Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development. He holds a Canada Research Chair in Moral Development and Developmental Neuroscience. His research focuses on the development of deception (lying and cheating), face processing in children and adults, and the early development of racial bias and its reduction.
