OISE doctoral student Amani Hitimana's latest study, looks at Canada's labour crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 91Ö±²¥ is proud to announce The Fariah Chowdhury Memorial Social Justice Award at the University of Toronto.

Following an overwhelmingly successful crowdfunding campaign, a scholarship fund has been created in honour of the late Fariah Haque Chowdhury, an OISE alumna who was a trusted community member involved a number of social justice movements. Fariah passed away in 2020.

The OISE community joyously congratulates Professor Emerita Helene Polatajko, who was named one of 39 new Officers of the Order of Canada.

In the Globe and Mail, OISE Professor Karen Mundy joins a trio of education faculty arguing for more investment in tutoring as the pandemic continues.

Excerpt: "In order to strengthen the current system, the Government of Quebec announced, as part of its fiscal year 2021 to 2022 budget, investments of $144.2 million over 5 years to: increase the number of qualified early childhood educators; accelerate the development of child care spaces through measures such as reviewing and optimizing the process related to the development of centres de la petite enfance (CPEs), authorizing the use of temporary facilities, and providing additional incentives for home child care providers; improve the offer of child care services and make it more flexible by promoting the provision of atypical child care and the offer of activities by community drop-in centres."
